Wonderfully beautiful box with Pegasus horse in gilded pewter, from Munka Tenn, measuring 14 x 10.5 x 3.5 cm. Weight about 600 grams.

  Pegasus (Latin: Pegasus) is a winged horse in Greek mythology that was used by Bellerophon when he defeated the monster Chimaira. Pegasus also carried the lightning bolts of the god Zeus. The word pegasus has been formed in Swedish from Pegasus. The running pegasus is a symbol of poetry.

Pegasus horses are described in Greek mythology as shy, flying animals that live alone on lonely mountaintops, grazing from the pristine grasslands of the highlands. Whoever is lucky enough to find and manage to tame a pegasus gets a very faithful companion for life, who will live as long as its master, unless the horse is fatally injured. Pegasus are described as chalky white or pitch black horses with a silver tail and mane, and on their backs, just behind the neck at the withers, are the significant white bird-like wings.
