A little about lemurs;

Lemurs are a primate found only on the island of Madagascar and a few nearby islands.

Lemurs have evolved in the unique environment of Madagascar and are endemic to the island, living in a variety of habitats, from rainforests to dry scrublands. Lemurs have large eyes that are adapted for nocturnal life, although some species are active during the day. Many species have long, striped tails that are used for balance and communication. They have sensitive noses and a well-developed sense of smell compared to other primates.

Lemurs are often social and live in groups called troops. Social hierarchies vary, but in some species (e.g. ring-tailed lemurs), females are dominant over males. The word "lemur" comes from Latin and means "ghost" or "spirit", referring to their nocturnal habits and large, reflective eyes.
