Leo, tin match case for large box, from MunkaTenn

Leo, a matchbox in pewter for a large box, from Munka Tenn. A real 17th century lion adorns the box, which is 12.5 x 7 x 3 cm. The weight is 240 grams.

A small anecdote about lions is the one about Charles XII who stands in the Royal Garden and points eastward and about Charles XIII, Gustav III's brother, who stands further into the Royal Garden, who instead has four lions as his attendants. Since he never distinguished himself through courage and strength of action, one king became in popular parlance a lion between four pots and the other a pot between four lions.
