Florence, a nice classic matchbox with Putti, made entirely of pewter from Munka Tenn. The dimensions are 6 x 4 x 2 cm and small regular matches from Solstickan fit perfectly.
But the big question is whether it is a Putti or a Cherub, as they can look similar. Let's get the concepts out of the way already.
Cherubim : Have religious origins, are powerful and majestic, symbolize protection and holiness, and are often described with multiple faces and wings.
Putti : Originating in Renaissance and Baroque art, are small and chubby winged children, symbolizing innocence and playfulness, and are often used in secular art for decorative purposes.
Both figures have played significant roles in art history, but their meanings and depictions differ markedly.
We have chosen Putti here as we think it suits the sticks better, especially the Solstickan!
